Join us to learn about three IPHY Global Seminars in one meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 5 p.m., Hale 230. Medicine Across Time & Terrain in Peru provides immersive experiences in the Amazon, the Sacred Valley, and Cusco, where you will examine traditional plant-based medicine, high-altitude physiology and Andean healing, and contemporary healthcare delivery through hospital shadowing. 3 credits / 3 weeks. Starts May 17, 2027. Health & Disease in South Africa will transport you through varied aspects of the health care systems supporting populations facing high levels of HIV, TB, Malaria, and other diseases. You will also learn about the inconsistent access to nutritional foods across the region, and the equality and accessibility to health care in and around Durban. 3 credits / 3 weeks. Starts May 3, 2027. History of Medicine in London & Edinburgh will take you back in time to experience the rich history of medicine over the centuries and how it shapes our current medical practices. These cities house dozens of medical museums and countless medical artifacts from all over the world, and you'll be guided through visits by experts on plagues, botanicals, and the roots of modern medicine and health care systems. 3 credits / 3 weeks. Starts May 10, 2027.
