What the source said

Hosted by the Sustainability Research Initiative (SRI), Sustainability on Tap is a monthly conversation series that brings sustainability research out of the classroom and into the community. Held this month at Upslope Brewing Company (East Boulder), the event creates a relaxed, welcoming space for dialogue, curiosity, and connection with the broader Boulder community. Rather than a traditional academic lecture, this series is designed to feel like a conversation: thought provoking, accessible, and grounded in real world impact. Each month features researchers and practitioners sharing ideas that connect complex research to everyday life. This Month's Featured Speakers: Kaitlin Urso: The Small Business Assistance Program Manager at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Urso's work focuses on the air impacts of the brewing and cannabis industries, including an innovative project that repurposes waste CO_2 from breweries as a sink for indoor cannabis cultivation. Dr. Shelly Miller: Professor Emerita of Mechanical Engineering at CU Boulder and a leading expert in urban and indoor air quality, Dr. Miller's research spans bioaerosols and air pollution control technologies, and she has taught extensively on air quality measurements and infection control. Join us for an informal evening of discussion over drinks, where you can engage directly with the people doing meaningful sustainability work at CU Boulder and beyond. Whether you’re deeply immersed in sustainability research or simply curious, come spark a new connection!
