What the source said

Hosted by the Sustainability Research Initiative (SRI), Sustainability on Tap is a monthly conversation series that brings sustainability research out of the classroom and into the community. Held this month at Upslope Brewing Company (East Boulder), the event creates a relaxed, welcoming space for dialogue, curiosity, and connection with the broader Boulder community. Rather than a traditional academic lecture, this series is designed to feel like a conversation: thought provoking, accessible, and grounded in real world impact. Each month features researchers and practitioners sharing ideas that connect complex research to everyday life. This Month's Featured Speakers: Caitlin Charlet is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Environmental Design Department at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she guides the Material Library, leads the Biomodernity Lab and teaches architecture and sustainable urban design studios across all levels. Her research is situated at the experimental intersection of transformative design strategies, biogenic material systems and the environment. Ms. Charlet holds a Master of Architecture from the Parsons School of Constructed Environments, with a Sustainable Strategies Post-Graduate Certification, and a Master of Science in Design and Urban Ecology from the Parsons School of Design Strategies.Sara Tabatabaie received her PhD in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder; her research has focused on the nexus between community health, design of the built environment and policies that shape human behaviors. She also holds her MA in urban planning and design from McGill University and her BS in civil engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Iran. Over the past decade, Sara has been working in the neighborhoods of Denver and Boulder on a variety of issues related to the built environment and health, including active mobility, urban greenness, sun safety and integrated ecology.Join us for an informal evening of discussion over drinks, where you can engage directly with the people doing meaningful sustainability work at CU Boulder and beyond. Whether you’re deeply immersed in sustainability research or simply curious, come spark a new connection!
